Company HQ quadruples in size as MAXUS gears up for new vehicle launches andcontinued growth.
7th December 2022, Liverpool: Having outgrown its UK headquarters in Warrington,Harris Maxus has moved to a new premises in Liverpool as the company continues to grow its presence in the UK. The new Harris HQ is quadruple the size of the previous Harris Headquarters which was only opened in 2021.
Harris MAXUS, which is one of the UK and Ireland’s leading automotive companies, officially opened the new HQ today at Gillmoss Industrial Estate with a ribbon cutting ceremony that was presided over by Liverpool’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Roy Gladden.
Parent company, Harris Group, is recognised as one of the UK and Ireland’s foremost distributors of commercial vehicles, including its flagship electric vehicle brand, MAXUS. The company holds the distribution rights for MAXUS vehicles across all right-hand drive countries in Europe and has seen significant growth in demand for its EV range of light commercial vans.
Owned By SAIC Motor Corp. Harris MAXUS is currently forecasting growth of over 200% in the UK in 2023, with sales projections across the UK and Ireland for 2022 circa 6000 units. The new 52,000 Sq ft premises will house 30 staff including Harris MAXUS’ technical, distribution and sales teams in addition to a parts depot and warehouse. A training centre for engineers taking part in MAXUS’ technical training academy will also be on site.
Mark Barrett, General Manager of Harris MAXUS said:
“At the start of 2021, Harris opened its first UK headquarters in Birchwood Park, Warrington. In less than two years, we have outgrown what was already a sizeable building, moving to a new state-of-the-art campus in Liverpool. The success of Harris MAXUS in the UK has exceeded all expectations. So far this year, we have seen MAXUS vehicle registrations grow by 52% versus 2021, with 38% of our overall sales in 2022 attributable to our zero-emission range of vehicles.
“At Harris MAXUS, we are fully focused on the future, not just in terms of expansion in the UK, but also in terms of the vehicles we put on UK roads. This year, we launched the world’s first all-electric, MPV – the MIFA 9. We also launched the UK’s first fully electric pickup truck, the T90EV. Over the next two years, we have plans to introduce four new zero-emission platform vehicles to the market. Our move to Liverpool is central to our future plans and we are committed to growing our presence in the UK, creating more employment, developing our dealership network and making a valuable economic contribution both locally and nationally.”

While attending their 10th Anniversary celebrations in London on Saturday night, Harris Group CEO, Denise Harris was honoured to accept the Irish Excellence Award from BITA (British and Irish Trading Alliance).
The award recognised Denise’s amazing leadership skills, commitment to sustainability and support for young people. It felt particularly appropriate that Denise received the award in London – the birthplace of Harris Group founder and Denise’s late husband, Pino, who was born in Whitechapel in an air-raid shelter during the war.
Commenting on the accolade, Denise said:
“I do not view this as a personal award but as one for all who are involved in the Harris Group, both directly within the Group – here and in the UK – and also, those who support the group, our dealers, our bodybuilders from our valeters to our transporters and our customers.
It is humbling to know that others are appreciative of our endeavours and everyone may be confident that we will do everything we possibly can to ensure that carbon emissions are reduced and thereby help to create a healthier climate for all to enjoy.
While Harris Group is making great progress in the electric vehicle industry, we can not do it alone, so I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you all to take action for the betterment of our planet and to create a healthier and prosperous future for today’s youth.”

Well done to Mar-Train Racing’s Jack Kennedy and Harris Maxus sponsored athlete on becoming the most successful rider in British Superbikes history after he did the double at round 8 of the series’ championship and won his fourth Supersport Championship.
The Irish man is the first rider in the series to win the title four times after he took the win in Race 2 gaining those extra championship points to seal the deal at Snetterton. The Dubliner was made to work for his 13th win of the season on Sunday by Bradley Perie who took the race lead from the start. Kennedy soon put the pressure on and after a number of attempts, passed Perie to take to lead to the chequered flag. Jack said he had full faith and confidence in Mar-train Racing who gave him the tools to get the job done.
Jack said: “Another amazing weekend on the Mar-Train R6, we managed to qualify on pole position in mixed conditions and got the hole shot in Race 1 and 2. I had a good few battles with Bradley Perie who kept me honest in both races but we managed to bring home the win and Championship title. “I’m absolutely delighted to give Mar-Train this Championship that we missed out in so narrowly in 2012 and to add another Championship to my record as well which sets me aside as the most successful British Supersport rider in history I am absolutely over the moon.
“All the pressure is off going into Oulton Park and I really enjoy riding the bike even more now – if that’s possible!”
Team Owner, Tim Martin said: “I am absolutely delighted with today’s result! We have won the British Supersport Championship! A fantastic weekend for the team. The boys have worked so hard in front and behind the scenes to produce a Championship winning bike and to give Jack all the tools he needed to make that happen.
“Another great battle between Jack and Perie in Sunday’s race but once again Jack showed his class and got the job done. “I want to say a huge thank you to Jack and the team – British Supersport Champions – job done!”

The Masters Superbike Championship, which takes place at Mondello Park International Track, is Ireland’s biggest Motorcycle Race Series. It is a hugely popular bike series that sees more than 180 bikes compete across all the Masters classes.
One of the recent initiatives that have been undertaken to enhance spectator enjoyment of the series is the addition of live-streaming. With the support of Harris Group and Harris Maxus, the quality of live-streaming of the race weekends is now of the highest order. Harris Group’s partnership with Mondello Park also includes Official Vehicle Partner status for HARRIS MAXUS at the track and for the Masters series. The track’s iconic Turns 1 and 4 are now exclusively branded with Harris and Maxus.

What a fantastic 3 days at Mondello Park, Dublin showcasing the Harris Maxus eLCVs range with our dealer network, fleet managers & customers with our “Experience Electric with Maxus” Event. The purpose of the event was to our dealer network & customers on an electric journey starting with an electric drive experience with the eDeliver 9 & eDeliver 9 and a variety of breakout sessions on charging & chargers with our partners EV Ready, Levl telematics, after sales, finance & making the switch to electric. Understanding the whole electric journey is crucial to decision making. The Harris Maxus team didn’t stop there, they stripped a vehicle back so all attendees could see what was inside and fully understand the benefits of owning an EV.
Maxus are continuing their pledge for a greener planet by providing all the support needed to switch to electric for all commercial requirements.
